    E46 M3 GTR Sighting

Hey Guys — Figured this was worth posting as it’s a rare bird (and a bit of an odd duck). Plenty of CSL-ish bits and diving board bumpers.

The OE 19s cracked me up. Aren’t those the heaviest wheel option?

Are the front fenders wider than normal M3?

Also I wonder if it would've looked cool if bumper strip moldings were black like sedan e46 and e36 instead of body color.

    Cool sighting though.

Saw the exact car at the Petersen.

Took about 300 photos of it since I could get close to it and no one was around lol

I maybe me, but as special as that car is, is like the ugly brother, the fenders are an afterthought and poorly integrated, you can clearly see BMW had to put something together in a rush with no one from their studio smoothing out the edges. That V8 CSL prototype from BMW is better.

Nice! Small world. Argument is out on whether it’s a good thing, but the car is a thing nonetheless.

Yea, it doesn’t present as a fully baked idea. More “tuner build,” in my opinion. Lots of pre or early CSL parts throughout, but not groundbreaking stuff.

The front fenders look wider. Must be as that front 19 was nowhere in the wheelwell. I didn’t look too closely. The green e36 GT caught my eye on the way out and I took pics of the GTR next door because “special” e46.

Yeah I have never been a fan of it either, but I do appreciate it for what it is.

The racecars look cool. The street cars look like an eBay body kit gone wrong.

Exactly my thought. That V8 though….

Haha, the GT was what caught my eye on the way out the door. Didn’t even notice the GTR, but kept it e46 in my original post.

                          E36 M3 GT ahoy.

Nate gets the other angle. I don’t drop the ball.
