Rebuild Tired KW V2's Or Move On To Something New?

Long time lurker, first time poster.(Was more active in the old forum 08-12.) I recently took possession of my 02' coupe that my father had used for the last 10 years, and it's in need of some TLC. I originally bought the car in 2008, and installed KW V2's and Powerflex RTABs on it around 2011. After 15 years, the KW's are feeling rough. Probably because I'm now in my 40's, and the last time I drove the car regularly I was in my early 30's.

Is it worth having the V2's rebuilt, or am I better off replacing them with something modern that is more compliant?

The KW V2 coilovers are not rebuildable. They utilize a shock insert inside of the shock body. I don't even think KW sells replacement inserts.

If this is mostly a street car, I'd opt for the Ground Control complete coilover system. Better bang for your buck over the KWs. Just my two cents.

Go for another set of KW V2's or just go for something else on the market like Bilstein PSS10's or OHLINs. Id even recommend TCK over GC.

Something new. KWV2s are junk, unless your only goal is getting the car as low as possible.

I went TCK, but for a bit more I think the Ohlins RT are a tried and true setup. You see these multiple threads about suspension and the Ohlins seem to pop up the most in regards to value for money.

I am not dissatisfied with my TCK's, that said I wish I would have went Ohlins. It was going to be about another $1000, but when you consider how critical suspension is and other factors involved with suspension installation, spend as much as you can.

If it means anything, Ive been incredibly happy with my PSS10's. For the money I think they're a bargain. Just wouldn't recommend them if you intend on going super low.

Trying to keep the budget under $3k, $2500 if possible. TCK was the favorite back when I owned the car in the early 2010's, so that might the route. Car won't be tracked, and will spend most of it's time on the backroads.

TCKs remain pretty great, especially for the price.

They're also much easier to get working properly than the Ohlins, which need to be set up VERY specifically to work as designed (as in, you ride at the optimal height exactly or they're bad, which can be too low to be in the good geometry if you have the wrong camber plates).

... though the Ohlins are a bit nicer if you get them working correctly (albeit more expensive).
