    I’m an idiot!

So angry with myself for scratching my car when parking it in my garage this weekend. The damage isn’t too bad but will likely require some repainting. Any special considerations or suggestions? Pretty sure the front bumper has been resprayed before but am weary of how well a body shop can match LSB.

Bring the car to a place with a paint scanner, call around first, I've had a trunk lid and bumper painted locally here in Nebraska where options are very limited for quality painters.

For the trunk lid I just brought the gas filler door to sample and it turned out great.

For the front bumper I had areas around the hood/quarter panel scanned per the instructions of the painter.

I scraped the shit out of the underside of my newly painted euro bumper within 2 weeks, went up over a curb while parking.

If it's just that, I'd say forget about, I did after a while.

I have silvergray, which I don't think is necessary very easy to match.

It happens to all of us my friend. Just a few days ago, the clip from my pocket knife scraped the inside of my door while getting out. Don't be too hard on yourself!

They can match paint pretty well these days, especially a non-metallic color like LSB.

Don't feel bad man, last month I accidentally left a cover on top of freshly polished paint and it bled in, had to have my guy wet sand it back to its former glory 😭

Yeah I feel LSB might be a little easier to to color match than Carbon Black. Also, like someone said, make sure they have a paint scanner because the sun has already worn a little color off.

                This is hilarious. Nice.

OP: LSB is in fact pretty easy to match. Follow the advice above re paint shop with paint scanner and you’ll be good.

Oh I came to the right thread! I had a utility knife on my garage's door frame (horizontal metal bars running across the door), and I opened the garage door. The utility knife went up to the 10ft ceiling, riding on the bar and fell onto my hood, pointy end first (the blade was not out, luckily). Now I've got a nice paint chip and a dent, and I'm looking for pdr.

I keep replaying the scene and wish I could Ctrl+Z (undo). I had spotted the utility knife minutes before and told myself "I gotta remove that before opening the door". I just spaced.
