Just look at the surface are of a GC or Vorshlag camber plate compared to stock, its significantly less.
The PO of my car had BC's on it with reinforcement plates and I had some pretty good cracks in the sturt towers, definitely not fun to have repaired.
This was likely due to a combination of very stiff springs/potholes as the BC plates actually were about equal size of the OEM tophats.
Although for all I know a PO just threw the plates in after seeing cracks, unfortunately I don't have the best idea of what happened to my car before I owned it.
I would run plates, I guess I don't see the downside.
