    aux fan upgrade

I’m planning a cooling system refresh/upgrade and would appreciate some advice from those who have already gone down this path.

Current plan is to use N15 fan brackets with a SPAL electric fan conversion, but I’m still trying to finalize the parts list and would like to avoid buying components twice.

For those running the N15/SPAL setup:
    • What radiator did you pair it with (OEM, CSF, Mishimoto, PWR, etc.)?
    • Which temperature switch or fan controller are you using?
    • Any DIY guides or videos for installing switch?

My goal is a reliable street car that can handle occasional spirited driving and summer traffic without overheating. I’d rather spend a little more upfront on proven parts than chase cooling issues later.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations and photos of your setup.

I ran mine with both the CSF and OEM radiator. The OEM did offer more clearance. As for wiring there are several guides just use google. I deleted the front aux fan and rewired my spal fan to its electric connectors this mean it only kicked on when needed but also shut off at certain speeds. I believe if you run both you have to splice into somewhere and add a fuse to the fuse box.

You can splice in a temp switch into the lower radiator hose to control a relay and then wire the relay to the jump post and ground. So the fan turns on when the coolant coming out of the radiator is above the temp switch set point.
