Figured I'd share a sound clip of my new exhaust set up (Fabspeed headers to CPI/BimmerWorld Rasp Terminator, Supersprint Resonated X-pipe and Eisenmann Race mufflers). I took a bit of gamble having never heard this combination but I'm very pleased with the sound!

A touch of drone at highway speeds when in 6th gear below 2800rpms but not intrusive at all. The Eisenmann Race mufflers are surprisingly boomy below 3k rpm and then almost instantaneously it goes away above 3k.Originally posted by theOracle View PostI like it. Does it drone? Looks like it’s catless correct?
Yes, it is cat-less which is the downside.

Are you referring to having a crossover (H-pipe)?Originally posted by tnord View Postsounds pretty good.
I have a theory that the key to making the S54 sound good is joining the exhaust, and this continues to support that theory.
I know technically changing the crossover from the stock position robs lower end torque but this set up retains the crossover pretty close to the stock location. It's just a little bit ahead at the tail end of the section 1 instead of the beginning of the section 2.

An H-pipe like the CPI sect 1, or the SS single sect 2.
Based on my very limited research it seems like most swap cars join the exhaust at the header, or somewhere along the path into a single 3”/3.5” pipe, or sometimes inside the muffler itself. I haven’t heard a swapped car that sounds bad yet.
