Downgrading to Oval Mirror from SOS/HomeLink/Autodim Mirror Wiring Questions

Howdy, my car came with a autodimming mirror, and the car was optioned with Home Link and SOS/BT.

When I got it, I was getting it patched enough together to get it home out of several M3 verts. My mirror had melted and the vert had a clean one which somehow had all the options as stated. So it actually has the garage door buttons on the mirror. That mirror has now also melted.

I have unfortunately wanted to meet my hero and have purchased an Oval Mirror. I just can't unsee this ancient youtube video lol.

Before I plug it in I have read various things how if car has been optioned with SOS, it can cause very not fun things to happen when plugged. I have now deleted my SOS module when I did bluebus, removed the CD changer and got the correct trunk carpet and all that jazz.

The info I am looking for is to verify the validity of this:
I'm attempting to retrofit an oval M interior mirror to my car. When I got this I assumed it would be a plug n play swap but it is rapidly looking like not. I took off the stock mirror and put the new one one. Plugged the rain sensor back in, plugged the mirror back in. Turned on car Car calls...

To Retrofit the Oval mirror to a car that came with a square mirror with assist, clown nose, and auto dimming:

    1) On the mirror side of the plug push out pins 4, 5, 6 and 7.

    2) Pins 4 and 5 are connected together by a white wire, Pins 6 and 7 are connected together by a green wire.

    3) On the mirror side I cut the white and green wire. You can fold them and put them inside the neck.

    Can anyone verify this?

I am not sure what pins to de-pin / swap. But I did it and it works.
