    What Next?

Howdy fellas. Im trying to decide what I should work on next. I did rod bearings back in January (thanks to y’all’s help), she’s running great and hasn’t blown up yet. Still amazed I managed to pull that off by myself. Other than that, all that’s been done is general maintenance, fluids, plugs/coils, sensors (that are easy to get to), etc. In regards to the other big 2, I’ve been looking around for someone competent enough to do RACP reinforcement (I’m not learning to weld on that thin aluminum).

Im conflicted on what I should do next. I’m thinking Vanos, suspension overhaul, or diff rebuild (will send diff out for this). I feel comfortable tackling vanos and suspension myself.

I’m leaning towards suspension as the car is on K&N lowering springs and rides rougher than I feel it should. Texas roads suck. Will probably go for bilstein B16 PSS10s . Been reading through different suspension threads and think that’s best for my situation. Virtually no track days (maybe 1 time every few years eventually), a bulletproof dedicated daily on shitty Texas roads.

I’d appreciate any input! Thanks in advance!

Also, just for context. I plan on rebuilding/replacing pretty much everything on the car over time but am trying to focus on the important stuff first. I want to do as much as I can myself too. I want to learn. If there’s anything outside the obvious I need To add to my priority list, feel free to explain!

All else being equal, I'd say VANOS, as it can destroy the engine. Tired suspension, generally, won't cause such a catastrophic issue.
