How are injector fault actually detected by the DME?

Are knock sensors involved in the detection of injector errors?

I've:
Replaced injector six with a new injector
Swapped the coil packs

I guess it must be the wiring or the DME driver transistor?

DME can detect the faulty open circuit as it senses zero current flow through the a sense resistor.
i would check the connection and wires from Dme to injector
