    Top mount options

I have KW Clubsport coilovers fitted with the adjustable top mounts, I can't fault them in terms of performance, and the design to ensure they stay sealed/protected is good.

My issue with them is I can adjust the camber without dropping the assembly as you can't get to all the bolts through the hole in the strut top.

Are there any other options out there where the camber can be adjusted without disassembly?

Most camber plates (the good ones) do allow for camber adjustment when the wheels are hanging by loosening the 3 nuts and sliding the whole assembly in or out. In those cases, the adjustment that is partially covered up is Caster (which conventional wisdom in bmw circles was always to set to max [back towards firewall]). So you'd set caster to max, tighten the 4 cap screws, then install and do camber and toe during the alignment (camber first, then toe as camber changes affect toe).

My recommended plates are Ground Control, Turner & Vorshlag. TCKline is another shout.

My GC Race plates are the same. Some cut the strut tower to expose more, but I loosen the set screws I can see (i.e., camber adjustment), then loosen the 3 strut tower nuts (i.e., caster adjustment), move the strut assembly so I can loosen the hidden set screws, set camber, tighten the set screws I can see (locking in camber), move the assembly so I can tighten the hidden set screws, then finally set caster and tighten the 3 strut tower nuts.

I’m at nearly -4.0 with this approach, though if you run extreme levels of camber you may need to drop the strut still or cut the tower.

In my post history there is a document with pictures showing this procedure. I also got washers with one flat side, so I can have two set screws right next to each other (versus separated by a hole), which helps.
