    Brake fluid reservoir filter

2005 M3, trying to clean out all gunk in brake fluid reservoir as I’m flushing fluid, new brake lines etc..

Within the fluid container is the mesh filter removable without damaging the reservoir and is a replacement filter part available?

The filter is very firmly secured, I didn’t want to completely ruin it as I wasn’t sure if molded into the container, but I did find one video on YouTube showing it can be removed. No luck finding a listed replacement part in parts catalog, but did find a similar looking filter p/n 34326752749.

I was hoping to just replace the entire fluid container with new OEM part but p/n 34326750798 looks to be NLA sadly.

Appreciate any insight if others have looked into this.

Its removable but you really have to fight it to get it out. You'll need a bunch of picks/flat screw drivers and about 4 hands. Once its out you can either toss it in the bin or spray it down with brake cleaner before reinserting.

Thank you for the info! I’ll have to get a bit more aggressive with it haha

I got a face full of brake fluid when I forced mine out, so I don't bother anymore; I pull out whatever fluid I can with it in.

This is what I bought as a replacement: direct fit: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...be-34326752749

Thank you very much! I will order the new filter and just do a one time deep clean on it.
