Ok I have a weird one, and I haven’t seen or heard of this, hoping I can get some help from the hive mind!
I got my subframe reinforcement done by a reputable shop here in WA last October. Not too long after, I started noticing a clunk when turning right. It never happens when turning left. Think turning right at a stoplight. More recently, I have noticed it happening sporadically when backing out of the garage. I put the clutch in, car in reverse, and then when easing the clutch out it will clunk.
the clunk sounds like it’s coming from the driver side rear, and I can feel it through the seat. Sometimes I think it’s coming from under the rear seat, sometimes further back. It feels similar to something heavy sliding around in the trunk and hitting the body as you turn
I took the car back to the shop, they reinspected the subframe and all is good. The exhaust mounts are tight. They even went as far as to inspect the driveshaft and guibo ; it’s fine. I’m getting under the car this weekend but hoping to get suggestions of what else I can look at.
Has anyone else chased a situation like this?
