What dashcams are you guys running?

Living in the city, I'm looking to get a dash cam setup for my M3. Ideally it should have front/rear recording, hardwired/USB power if possible, always on-motion detection with settings to not let battery drain.

What kind of dash cams are you guys running?

Let me start by telling you what to avoid. I purchased and installed an OEM looking hidden camera like this:


The fit and finish was great. The video quality was great. Despite being hardwired, it always reset the date and time and I hated that. The connection to the phone app was terrible. After a while, it just stopped working and I recently took it out. Stay away from this camera.

Interested to hear recommendations from others.

I have this as well BUT I have an AVIN Avant-3 HU with the CYHY App so every time the car starts it connects to the camera and resets the date and time so it hasnt been too much of an issue for me. Its not a great camera for sure but it is pretty cheap and I keep it in just for general dash cam work and the motion detector... good as a backup even if you install a different setup as its completely hidden... alternatively I looked at it when I installed it and given how cheap it is i think you could buy it just for the casing and modify it to install a GoPro or the like as a dashcam hidden within the casing... just a thought.
