I have a Uniden R3 and it’s awesome. One of the best long range detectors out there. I suggest getting the R7 especially since the range is good plus it has directional arrows now.

I also have a V1... but rarely use it because Waze has 99.9% of cops on it around here.

10-15 years ago my license lived or died by radar detection.

I have the v1 gen 1. It has the anti falsing blah blah. Lah. It helps but not all the time. Allegedly the gen 2 is much better.

Get it if you drive a lot. It mostly has saved my ass on shit ass back roads where its easy to do 40mph in a 25mph zone, which is an extra wide double yellow road. Which makes no sense. Not like a populated residential street.

I think detectors will be phased out due to all of the frequencies being used up and they will just false their way into oblivion.

Redline ex. The range is unreal. And has gps so it tells me how fast I’m going. If I didn’t need the mph (my speedo is in km), then I’d get the escort 9500ci with a laser jammer and have the rear view mod done that fixes the auto dimming Mirror and adds the radar detector display.

I have an Escort iX, which is basically the 360 max with one less antenna. I don't like it much, there are tons of falses on the highway. It gets tripped off by CB radios every time a truck goes by. I never hardwired it, but there is an easy way using the homelink connector in the headliner.

My next purchase would probably be a Valentine One Gen 2.

    Radar Detector setups

Hey yall, I have been looking into getting a radar detector for a while now.. I think the Turner CSL intake sealed the deal because its hard to keep my foot out of it now.. I do a lot of in town driving, but do have some longer highway trips coming up. I would want to get something hidden as much as possible up by the rearview, and would obviously want to hardwire for a clean look. I do love the look of the Valentine V1, but seeing as those are harder to come across I have been looking into the Passport escort 360 max and the Uniden r7.. Anybody have experience with either and some pics of their hardwire setup?
Working...
