Cerakote is not new, it's been used on firearms for many years. It's proven to be the toughest coating for ceramic coatings. Right behind it is Duracoat. My CC is Cerakoted and it is exposed to skin and humidity constantly. The coating does it's job. It'll withstand a red barrel of a bunch of mag dumps so it'll probably withstand some headers. I still don't see it worth it for me but it's good to have the options. It's the best though and it's combat proven if that means anything to anyone. It has definitely come down in price because I see most people doing headers for $250.
