    Slave Cylinder Rebuild

In an attempt to prime and turn over and engine that was just rebuilt, muscle memory got the best of me and I pressed the clutch with the slave cylinder hanging loose. This resulted in it popping and separating.

Is the slave cylinder salvageable? Or is this a "pressed" part and requires a new unit?

Once you have cleaned up all the parts you can install the spring and piston back into the cylinder then press the rubber seal back in with the snowflake shaped retainer but it is incredibly difficult to get all the rubber in equally and make it look the way it did before it popped out. The rubber seal is just a dust shield so the slave will still work fine.
That's what did so I could drive the car until the new slave I ordered came in, also, if there is any corrosion on the inner walls of the cylinder just get a new slave cylinder, they're not that expensive.

Another vote for replacing it once you do that.
