    Went back to bolts personally after studs backed out on me twice even when torqued to spec and red loctited. Not worth the risk to me. Eventually will do core4 hubs with msi studs but until then, hard pass on the uncertainty of screw in studs. Peace of mind not having to worry anymore about a wheel falling off.

    The 44mm studs that FCP sell are way too short. I tried them, would have saved about a lb of unsprung weight per wheel.

    Needs to be about 60mm.

    The 44mm figure makes sense to me. 44mm would be the stock 25mm length + another 19mm (3/4") for the nut itself to go on. In other words, the entire stock bolt, including the head, should be about 44mm in total length.

    It probably comes down to what these companies are including in these lengths - the end of a stud, about 12mm is smooth (bullet nose or allen style). So one company might just mean the length of the threaded portion, but not the end. Another company might be quoting the entire length. A 3rd company could be quoting the threaded portion only, but not including the 12mm or so that threads into the hub (that receives loctite).

    Yeah, it might be best to check with FCP, but the 75mm APEX studs have a few mm of the hex portion that is not threaded.

    i personally use 2 wheel hangers to mount my wheels and replace all my wheel bolts with Rein bolts once I acquire a used car and just never torque them to over 90 ft lbs.
    Little bit of detail here

    The relationship of wheel stud torque and friction as applied to track use, HPDE, racing, or endurance racing. Torque isn't what it seems!

    Why are studs easier to snap than bolts if they are the same diameter? is it related to the material used or the fact that the stud + lug nut mechanism is more prone to play?

    i personally use 2 wheel hangers to mount my wheels and replace all my wheel bolts with Rein bolts once I acquire a used car and just never torque them to over 90 ft lbs.

    +Motorsport Hardware.

    I bought the 78mm bullet nose kit. I don’t plan on running a spacer larger than 15mm

    Bought direct from manufacture before I knew about the FCP warranty. Very happy with the kit.

    As someone who had 3 studs sheer on ACH, I assure you they are a wear item. My Apex studs were installed for 4yrs / 4k miles / 5 track days. I always hand-torqued wheels to spec (85ft/lb), never used power tools to put them on. I will be replacing them annually from now until I get around to doing the MSI conversion.
