    SMG Accumulator Pressure Test

Not having any SMG issues but figured I would run the accumulator pressure test using the Foxwell/Schwaben tool for fun/science/boredom.

Scantool reports accumulator pressure of 12.5 bar when it should be between 29 and 41.

Can anything cause this test to fail other than a bad accumulator? Most people I have seen never replace the accumulator and just get the Burkhart motor.

    Its a pretty pricey part.

I want to say that 12.5 bar reading is what occurs when certain conditions aren't met prior to the running the test meaning your accumulator is more than likely fine. I'll see if I can't dig that up as I made some notes about this in the past.

Also was it reading 12.5 or -12.5 bar?

Looks like you're right it was -12.5. Photo attached. This is with the salmon relay connected. Tried running the same test without the relay and the test wouldn't run.

I cannot find my notes on this but if memory serves the Schwaben/Foxwell tool was not reliable (or at the very least finicky) where this test is concerned. That -12.5 bar can indicate a bad accumulator but since you aren't having any issues I highly doubt it. I would test using DIS.

Thanks! I'll give DIS a try. I just hate navigating those menus!!
