Just want to do a quick public service announcement for those battling mystery leaks into the trunk area where the radio amp and cd changer sits.
I have a shark fin on my m3 and started noticing the shark fin gasket deteriorating. Also noticed my amp in the trunk was starting to get wonky in the rainy days (producing weird sounds and thuds).
Did a little investigating and looks like the wire that runs from the shark fin into the trunk amp/nav/cd area is getting wet.
The water is somehow penetrating through the rubber cover where the wire enters the trunk area.
And I imagine when the wire gets wet enough it starts dripping onto the amp and other parts causing issues. (the shark fin wire runs right above the amp inside the trunk)
