Tires. What is every one running?

I'll say it again. PS4S is great for a street driven M3 in the OP's scenario. They handle everything he is going to throw at them in Hawaii. I'm unaware of another tire that will compliment the E46 M3 without making a sacrifice outside of cost, in his climate.

I don’t doubt that. I do feel though that people should go ahead and try out mods for themselves before taking someone’s word on the forum that PS4S are the absolute end all. What may seem like a compromise to someone, might not even bother others

As I stated in my initial post. If you don't mind the compromise because it's what you're used to, you won't mind the compromise. Feel free to explore "Mods" on your own, but the OP is asking about tires.

I have run MPS', Bridgestone PP's both are great tires. Currently running HANKOOK VENTUS V12 EVO2...great tire, great look, great price.

My car came with those Hankooks... I can't wait to get rid of them. PS4S is hard to beat, especially when Costco or Discount Tire has a crazy special on them.

Maxxis VR-1 265/35-18 for street/track usage
theyr'e great on the street and good up to a limit on the track. get greasy near the end of the session. usually end up coming in early. but i guess that's what i get for trying to use one tire for 2 purposes.
