X-Ice are awesome snow tires. I ran them on my 325 Touring. Believe it or not, they actually do well in warmer weather, up to the 60 F -- they will be a little greasy and squirmy because of the deep tread, but otherwise perfectly serviceable.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500, love em and pretty inexpensive. I don't track my car and it is my daily in the summer months.

hahaha 100% accurate on the RS4 tires.

I've had my set for 2 years, 5 HPDE events and 6k miles and i still have porbably 50% life maybe a little more? I really want to try another tire but don't want to waste tires.

Just put in an order for some Federal fz-201 100tw to run as summer/track day tires. Finally ready to get rid of these dual duty pss's.

AS3’s on both cars, fits my driving style and desire to drive on cold dry days whenever possible. M3 doesn’t see snow and plan on going for X-Ice on the 530 once the current set of gripless Toyo whatevers are done.

Once the current set of tires is done on the M3, I’m debating between another set of Michelin AS tires or PS4S...

Had hankook v12 evo on my first m3 hated it. Got continental extreme contacts, loved those. Had some all season continental tires on my 3rd E46 and hated those. Have currently Toyo proxes sport on my DD and like them. And on my new E92 M3 I have Ps4s, and absolutely love them!!

    MCS, not sure of spacer.

For Federals? Their 265 might be more like a normal 275 or 285 in terms of section and thread width. It will also depend on your wheel width/offset/spacer, ride height, etc. My friend who recommended the tires runs 275 RS-Pro but he has had issues rubbing in the rear on 18x9.5 arc 8 with et35, don't know what spacer he runs.

Primary reason I went with 265 on PS4S and 255 on Federals is because Ohlins have a thicker strut so with 18x9.5 et35, with spring length/rate/preload/ride height I run, rubbing will happen on the inside on the strut (vs outside on the fender), and I don't want to run wheel spacers or a tonne of camber. Now that I installed the Ohlins knuckle spacer I can maybe play around a bit more and re-measure clearances, but I'm not there yet.

So long answer to your question, but yes, they can fit.

I won't be able to do a comparison to RS-RR, since I havent run them, so will have to go with the mass info available on the interwebs, but folks say that Pro take heat better, don't delaminate/center seam doesnt come apart, are quieter, do better in the wet. "Better" is subjective of course.

Might try RS4 after RS-Pro to compare back to back, but it'll be next year at earliest I think. Friend recommended RS-Pro and they are "relatively" cheap, so will try them out.

They run wide, measurements on Federal's site seem very off based on what everyone is saying, so I am waiting for 255 to get to my door (was running 265 PS4S).
