That is based on driving style and chassis dynamics-- not tire compound.

I guess we've found common ground.
most people genuinely cannot tell the difference in driving experience between a hounday and an M3; it all feels the same to them. The same people claim their cheap coil over suspension and bargain tires feel like a race car. Not a stab at anyone but it’s just fact from what I have observed.

Nt01 273/35-18 square. First time using this tire, I think I’m in love.

                It's just a sign you're enjoying your M3 😉

                    Boy, this escalated quickly.

For what it's worth, when I first purchased my car ~3 years ago, it came with hankooks, brand new ones (po replaced right before selling). I can not say I enjoyed the feel of them, so I replaced them.

Everything is so subjective, and "depends". Depends on where you drive and how you drive. I know people who street/daily on nt01 and enjoy them (they are dot legal, even though they are 100tw), and say they do fine in the rain unless pretty worn without grooves. I run pfc08 on my car year round, but I don't see east coast temperatures.

Anyway, sounds like everyone is having a boring wednesday.

so if I didn't drive the M3 in the rain anymore, is there another tire out there with same or better wear than the PS4 but more grip at the expense of wet performance?

The Hankook RS-4 would be the closest alternative I can think of. I don't personally know of anyone who's gone for street longevity with that tire but it is touted for endurance. Searching through the boards I've read owners getting 20k miles out of them on the street.

You'll almost certainly be moving to a much louder tire, as well-- if you care about such things. Especially after you have a couple thousand miles on them.

I definitely do care about such things, and that's a good point. I just kinda realized that I don't need wet weather capabilities and that may give me some other options.
