It used to be that injector servicing was dirt cheap, injectors were expensive, and FCP didn't exist. Now FCP does exist, injectors are cheaper, and servicing has gotten more expensive.

5 years ago I had them serviced. Next time, and going forward after that, I'll have them replaced.

It's great that yours are still doing great at that mileage, but they will wear out eventually. Given the price, and also the fact that you have no down time while waiting for service, I can't really see an argument for not buying new injectors.

I was basing this off their website when they said "refund against your replacement order" which in my mind is the "new replacement part":
"When you need a replacement, you must purchase the new replacement part first. Once you receive your replacement part, you can send the initial item you purchased from FCP Euro back and upon receipt of the part, we will issue you the refund against your replacement order."

my experience with using a popular injector cleaning service at the time.

          - car was running fine, but high mileage so i ordered a set of rebuilt injectors
          - sent my cores back for refund, they claimed 2/6 of them were broken to the point of no repair and only gave me a partial core refund
          - less than 1k miles later driveability declined dramatically, even started getting SES for fueling
          - i bit the bullet and got new injectors from FCP
          - car went back to driving normal, i trashed the old injectors
          - that injector cleaning service no longer exists

          never again

I was on the fence but at 270 for a set of brand new injectors from FCP, it's a no brainer. Just ordered them today.

            Get new ones ya'll.

No one is wrong here but one minor observation - with an injector cleaning service, there is the diagnostic benefit of a "before" measurement. I know some will say just spend a bit more to have new injectors and forget figuring out if something was wrong. A reader can make their own judgement.

Reviving this old thread as I consider pulling my injectors for cleaning as part of some other work I'm going to do in the area (TPS sensors, IACV clean, purge valve). Since new injectors are insanely expensive now, looks like a few options for servicing I find are RC Engineering, Witchhunter...

I'm at 82k and figure it can't hurt to have this done.

RC Fuel Injection in Los Angeles. I shipped mine over to them for a cleaning, came back and thus far, no issues.

FWIW I've heard both good and bad things about RC -- a couple claims that they fake their before/after flow reports. There's also a ton of people who say they're great! They've definitely been around a long time and have a reputation. Idk just take everything with a grain of salt I guess.

Are the reasonably priced Bosch OEM fuel injectors for our cars really permanently NLA? Has anyone learned what the cause of this is? Surprised this has gone on so long.

I've heard stories as well, iirc it was coming from the Zilvia boards back in the days but there was never any solid evidence. RC has been around a long time indeed, I gotta believe they're still servicing injectors at this point because of their reputation. My first rodeo with them was in 2006, got some 650cc injectors serviced and have been a customer ever since. They're not the only option, just one that I use and trust.
