    Aluminum Undertray Options

Who makes a good aluminum undertray? I attempted to order from Motion Motorsport but just filed a dispute with my credit card after a month of no shipping/communication. Looking at their Facebook looks like they've ghosted everyone for the last year...should have looked before I ordered lol.

The only other ones I've found are Turner and AReeve. Turner seems kinda over-engineered...I'm sure it's a fine piece but kinda spendy and heavy duty for what it is. AReeve I've seen some poor fitment reviews but not much else, plus international shipping. Any others I'm missing?

DMG Autosport is coming out with one, on their Instagram page it looks pretty awesome.

Why do you want alu over stock? Seems only worse to me— stock isn’t failure prone on our car, metal will likely damage your car if it takes a hit (unlike plastic), and plastic is lighter.

        Are you talking about this?

I'm looking for the piece in front of this.

I want something that has it's own mounting brackets and doesn't rely on the failure prone brake duct brackets, which I'm going to be deleting with the stock brake ducts for "real" brake ducts. The weight difference isn't that much and obviously down low so not a concern; except for that beefy looking turner one haha.

I'm mostly interested in the Motion/AReeve style...I also like the flatter profile of these aluminum options over stock/Turner. My stock one is cracked and has holes in it from the P/O and parking curbs...that's not a worry now though. With a flat profile like this I can only imagine damage coming from the front and in that case I got bigger problems.

I have the Turner and wouldn't recommend it. The install is kind of a PITA as the windshield washer reservoir is in the way to mount the "new" brake duct bracket it comes with (passenger side only). The brackets are also too thick for the brake duct plastic rivets so you'll need to either uses screws or zip ties. The riv nuts are also a pain and the tool they have for those sucks.

bumping this up. Does anyone have experience with Motion? I see a lot of bad reviews but the piece looks nice and perfect for what I am trying to do.

Motion Motorsports is defunct as far as I know, or at least very sketchy at this point. There is no communication and no updates. If you look around, you will find everyone has had the same issues that OP did for the past several years.

Additionally, none of these are any kind of upgrade, as mentioned earlier. In addition to those reasons, I believe the stock piece is designed to direct air to the right places, like the radiator. At least this was the case with the E36, where Motion did also sell a radiator baffle.

I see no upside except aesthetics. Also, I considered the Turner ECS piece before deciding to stay stock on my e36. I found numerous examples of people having fitment issues. ECS cannot even do the simplest things right.

I like the fact that they have oil cooler air suction opening.

I ordered a Motion undertray on April 2, 2022. Showed up via UPS in just under a month. As I understand, they build the parts as orders arrive.

If they have lots of orders...

                        You wait longer😉

I ordered mine on 1/6/20, contacted them on 1/20/20 and 1/29/20, heard nothing, they said the order was ready for shipment on 2/9/20, I contacted them again on 2/25/20, still nothing, ended up doing a chargeback in early march, and got a notification that it was shipped and out for delivery on 3/9/20. They finally contacted me on 3/10 and asked me to reverse the chargeback, which I did, but man was that a frustrating process.
