      I thought that too but I believe that's just oil residue from me cleaning. The entire front was covered in oil too. You can see where I gripped the P/S hose in my rag and wiped it so the out edges didn't get as thorough of a cleaning.

          If its leaking just sitting in the garage, it's an oil pan gasket. A rear main is a dry shaft seal so it will only leak if the car is running and there is oil pressure. Also, a rear main usually will fling oil around in the bellhousing and leak around the peep hole in the bottom.
