Nice pick up, it blows my mind how someone selling a car doesn't take 5 mins to get a gauge on market price lol. Works out for us lucky mofo's!

Congrats and look forward to seeing what you do with it!

I think it looks perfect on the 46.... I dont enjoy it nearly as much on my 92.... many other shades of blue look better on the 92 !

Guess I’ll turn this into a journal.

When I acquired the car I knew it was going to need some maintenance as there was a lack thereof, as well as a noticeable oil leak.

After inspecting it at the shop ruining what’s left of my flooring, I found the common oil VANOS line to be pouring oil. Probably wasn’t necessary, but I ordered a new accumulator as well, as the car does have a rough idle/stalling issue at times. It’s safe to assume this is partly due to being at a mile elevation with a VF engineering tune. Those that can remember that far back, know how poorly VF tuned.

Parts are tricking in, as ECS due to Covid seems to be drop shipping everything.

                So far I’ve ordered

                Zimmerman disks
                Stoptech street pads
                ECS VANOS line
                VANOS accumulator
                OE injectors
                Full belt/pulley stock replacements
Alcantara ZCP knob and ZHP leather broomstick (can’t decide which one will feel better)
                Oil change kit(s)
Cats to weld into OE sect. 1 for the header install
                Turner CSL intake (pending)
                CMP subframe bushings

Truly debating the rest of the build. There’s a large part of me that wants to stay as factory as possible interns of wheels and suspension. My needs for the car have changed over the years, and I no longer want a “gt3” like build, but rather a true grand touring car that rides well and doesn’t stray too far from what BMW intended the ZCP/CS to be.

This leads me to question straying from OE rubber on the bushings, with the subframe being the exception due to the poor design flaw of the rear.

I also am looking for an OE IB decklid. Will to trade this CF one.

On the detailing side, I haven’t been afforded the time to touch the rotary yet, but I did do a light blowing out and leather cleaning of the interior as the car had sat for 1+years and had acquired much dust. Also tried my hand at restoring what’s left of the steering wheel. Needs to be shaved down, but it’s an immense improvement over what it was before.

They had an idea, but it goes along way when you’re a trusted business service and show a passion/don’t haggle them and make it a painless sale.

The owner is a very busy man, and isn’t the type to spend the 20min with each enthusiast* that calls him asking about VANOS bearings and subframe.

I love it, one of the best deals ever. I'll buy the supercharger kit.

People always want more right? even if the car is 10 grand below market value, they still call and inquire about some silly thing that can be fixed for a few hundred bucks. It amazes me. There is nothing to be asked about a car like this... you take it for a PPI as soon as possible and then make an offer. Thing is already priced low enough that unless you have a badly damaged RACP, you're getting a sweet deal.

As someone who just sold an e46, I would have gladly given up $1000 if someone had come along before I listed it and taken photos ect. and made it a quick an easy deal.

$1000 isn’t much to me at this point in life. It’s not hard to see how that can scale up $$ for others
