Oil Pump - How does it go back together?

Pulled apart my oil pump to inspect & clean the components prior to re-assembling the bottom end. Unfortunately (due to my stupidity lol) I completely forgot to take photos or make any notes of how it came apart.

I have no idea the correct order in which it goes back together. I am unable to find any kind of guide or diy advising which cog goes where. It goes without saying this part is of critical importance.

Does anyone know or can anyone provide a guide as to exactly how our oil pump goes back together? I have the torque specs document but unfortunately due to the oil pump being a "non-serviceable component", there is no TIS explaining the process of assembly/disassembly.

I would go as far as asking someone who has a spare pump to disassemble and take photos of after each individual part is removed.

Any help from this awesome community would be appreciated

One of the rod bearings documents included instructions and pictures on disassembling, and re-assembling the oil pump. Click the google drive link here, go into the folder, and check through the rod bearing instructions, probably about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way through.

        this should get you going...

it’s really pretty straight forward. Don’t mix up the big circles. Dots face up...

        lots of lube!!!

I’m curious about the oil pump disassembly/reassembly. What is the purpose if you’re not replacing anything? Inspection only?

I’m doing rod bearings this weekend and wondering.

After taking mine apart last week I can't believe there's any need to take it apart it looks like something that just came out of the machine shop inside it looked completely brand new no oil staining or anything inside. The only reason would be if you thought the pressure regulator for the spring inside was bad but I didn't take that part apart

              It’s a well lubricated part 🤣

Thank you for your replies. These will help no doubt!

8000RPM - inspection only mate. The mesh screen on mine was damaged so I thought I'd open it up and clean/inspect.

everything checked out okay? I have a damaged screen mesh on mine as well (im also rebuilding my engine). Are you doing any fix for the screen?

Yep. A friend is replacing the brass mesh and ring with stainless steel. Can't see it broken and then not fix lol. But you can't buy that pickup tube/mesh separate to the pump brand new...
