Costco... also comes with free service of scratching your rims! 😂

Yeah, it's going to vary Costco to Costco, but I'm never getting tires mounted and balanced there again. They used the galvanized steel weights that clip on the outside of the wheel and they didn't balance correctly (this was for my truck). Now they can't find me in the system to re-do and it's a headache at this point.

You guys are scaring me 😅

I’ve had Costco mount my track tires but they don’t do mount only anymore, you have to buy tires too.

Most Costco's are a zoo. It takes them an entire day to install my tires when I did use them - haven't used them in many years (since they stopped the all "inclusive" pricing policy).

Not the most friendliest folks, slow & inefficient and 9/10 times your wheels WILL get dinged & damaged. Unless you are taking your winter wheels...
To save $100, $200, I think its not worth the headache..

I just go to the garage directly and ask manager to be super careful and they inspect rims before and after install. Sometime I come first thing in the mornings and just stand there and watch :-). However, couple of times I did not do that and they scratched my rims, good those were my DD old 17s.

Why don't ya'll just buy the tires and have them installed elsewhere?

Bought my PS4S through them and got a lot of pushback for putting non-OEM size tires on my car. I wasn't even getting them installed, and they were hesitant to sell me the tires.

Coz I got a set of tires installed for 150-200 cheaper then anywhere else. I know, what is $200 in the world of owning an e46 m3, right? hahah

I got my RAC RG4s installed w/PS4S (245/275) from Costco. Purchased online and shipped to local Costco Tire Center. Scheduled online appt. Dropped wheels off only and told them no rush. Picked up wheels in about 4-5 hours.

Saved maybe $150-$200, 1-2% credit card rebate, Costco warranty, and a nitrogen fill. It's less chaotic than the America's Tire nearby because of the appointments. They're not kind to walk-ins.

Yup, online appointment is key. Walk-in? Good luck, it's chaos with the volumes they do.

I pay 25 bucks a tire for install. Where are you going that charges you 200 for a tire install?

Just get the tires on sale and have them installed elsewhere. I just picked up a set of NT05's from Discount Tire for 545 shipped. Had them installed locally at an Indy for 100 bucks.

Last 3 sets I bough with Costco special deal with free instal (I guess it is 50% off now) was saving me around 150-200 compare to what you suggest with getting online and installing at any indy. I don't think there is a point for an argument here. There are options, you may save some money going with Costco deal, may not. I would say a take home message from here is: If you go with Costco deal make sure that you aware that they may scratch your rims and make sure you discuss this possibility with their tire dept. manager before installation. 🍻

Not 100% on this, but my understanding of the fine print is the $$ savings are only valid if purchased from and installed by Costco.
