Resonated or non resonated section 2?

What you guys recommended ? My car is supercharged. I have headers, double resonated section 1, stock section 2 and SS race , I am curious about swapping oem section 2 with resonated or non resonated twin pipe section 2 ?

Depends how you feel about rasp.

I have SS single pipe resonated, along with CPI RTX. No rasp. Big fan.

Unresonated 2.5" SS dual pipe was unbearable for me. Something like the unresonated ss "x pipe" sect 2 would likely be much better as that pipe inherently cuts rasp a great deal already.

My philosophy is coming back around to sticking to what BMW came up with (just enhancing it). They put a single resonator in sect 1 and a little dual box in the sect 2 for some reason so I'd copy it for the most part unless you're purposefully wanting to diverge from stock.

Yes! thats the same ideology I have. After I went catless headers though i felt the sound of the heades took away from the airbox a bit. Any suggestions to this, section 1/2/3 all stock currently. Also it would be awesome if you guys have videos of your setups so we can hear them. If yall have please post.

To be fair, that's the setup they had in the USA... where they were forced into it by US emissions laws.

In the rest of the world, they had catless headers, catted section 1, resonated section 2, muffler.

              That's true.

Bassel, if you want to remain catless I would weld in another resonator into sect 1 (ar20/25). Otherwise, you could get a catted sect 1 (or weld nice GESI/HJS cats into existing sect 1 [in lieu of or res]) and that will calm things down.

Even after all these years, I still think the OE sect 2 is perfection (well, maybe lighter CSL version :P ). If you really don't like rasp and you're ok giving up a bit of midrange, the SS X pipe is a fair choice for sound reasons.

SS oversized dual pipe sect 2 will also lower total volume, but it's a weird sound IMO, loss of character, sounds like a vacuum cleaner. The x pipe produces a much cooler "euro" super car sound imo. As i said though, personally, I love the raspy potent sound of the stock sect 2 and midrange is solid with H pipe.

I'm surprised you still want to quiet it when you have the stock muffler though. Even with SSv1s decat (with the stock muffler), I find the exhaust noise perfect for having an airbox. I believe SSv1s are loudest header followed by euros then the SS long tube 55mm design "tubulare" which has the laziest sound to me (in cockpit), but a nice, deeper rumble out the tail pipe.
