Differential checklist

Have the differential out for servicing. I remember there was a checklist of what to look for when the differential was out on the old forums. Does anyone have anything similar handy?

Also, noticed some oil on the CV axle to differential flange bolts. I heated one up as it was stubborn, so did I just melt some CV grease? Also, other side was slightly moist.

Input seal
2 output seals
2 carrier flange o-rings

I’d also replace the inner CV boot on the left axle since it’s close to the exhaust.

Also a good time to replace the lower control arms or the inner bushing.

How did you know your diff was failing?

I’ve been troubleshooting some issues with my car and wondering if it might be time to repair or upgrade my diff.

Not failing, broken rear carrier bolt using a revzilla bushing kit

Speaking of, have a snapped rear diff bolt in subframe. How low can I lower the subframe but still have it supported by the 4 bolts? Need to fit a drill in there to remove the snapped holt...
