    Subframe work?

question guys, we bought the car for the suspension, rims and engine and saw The subframe like this..

is this what a foam reinforcement looks like? Is it normal for all those rivets? Underneath seem untouched, we will be parting it out but perhaps someone can make the body (rolling chasis useable) thats why im asking if job is good from previous shop.

    thanks all.

The nut and stud sticking through from underneath along with the fact that the top layer of sheet metal conforms to the body leads me to believe it's the OG version of the Vincebar.

If you pull the rear seats and see nuts and studs sticking through two "cups" from the bottom then that would confirm my suspicion. You can also pull the trunk liners out, and there should be a plate on each side rivetted to the chassis rails

timmo is this a good subframe brand style of work? Most of the ones i see are welded plates under but this one is stock under.

thanks BTW for the quick response

It's second only to the CMP Engineering kit, but the Vincebar is fully hidden. Both solutions are better than plates in the fact that it actually fixes the root cause of the issue, as they add an additional path to the chassis rails for loads coming from the subframe. Plates are needed to fix pre-existing cracks, but if the underside is truly crack-free there shouldn't be any further cracks forming when using either kit.
