Center console switch unit

Hey guys, does anyone know if these are plug and play... year/transmission dependent?

Basically car came from factory with heated seats and were removed.. Wondering if I bought one without the seats if it would be a direct plug and play?

If purchasing a brand new switching centre, it will come with all possible buttons - you're supposed to cap off unused buttons with p/n 61316905175.
If purchasing a used switching centre, as far as I can see, the wiring and plug at the switching centre did not change over the years - any M3 switching centre for your body style (coupe/cabrio) should be plug-and-play.

I saw that note on the realoem site and was hoping it wasn't true. That's kind of a pain; Guess I'll have to find one used.
