    Recaro Sportster CS - values

This is kind of a half-throwaway, but what would you guys consider a reasonable going rate for a mint set of genuine leather/heated Sportster CS seats?
I'm considering swapping for PP's, and acknowledging the sporty's discontinued status am looking for any recent anecdotes or opinions before listing.

    🤠 thoughts?

I've seen a pair sell for around $3k recently.

What's making you consider the pole positions over the sportsters?

    Current:

    1997 BMW M3 - Boston Green/Modena
    2003 BMW M3 · Coupe · 6MT - Alpine White/M-Texture Alcantara

Besides the obvious design differences between the CS's and GT's are there any other notable differences? Ive recently seen a pair of GT's listed for $3500

Yeah— the PPs are half the weight of the CSs, much more supportive, and have a sub strap pass through hole.

The CSs are a great seat at what they’re designed to be— a sporty street seat.

Hey guys - thanks for the insight so far.
The main differences between the CS and GT, from my initial impressions, are cushion pattern (thought I'm sure there are other technical changes that have found their way in)
I find that the GT pattern is far too angular, and doesn't flow with the interior lines of the E46.

I had PP's in my previous P-car, and as my M3 has gone further and further down the modding hole I'm looking for that connectivity that I miss from the Poles.
With that being said, the Sportsters are a phenomenal seat that really are the best of all worlds (especially if you need regular access to the rear seats)

BMWahba ^ pricing is in line with what I've been seeing as well.
I've had some members reach out here already, and would like to move these along to another E46 owner.

Thanks for the indulgence here! Fun discussion, as I know seats are one of the biggest points of contention for this platform.

Completely agreed. The CSs look like they could be a stock seat in the e46. The GTs look out of place to me.

Why'd you have to go and say that

I have a pair of leather pole positions with the suede insert (pictured below) and was looking to sell and get CS's... not sure how it would work out between us given covid restrictions AND being pretty much cross country lol.

                    Thanks for the reply

Ended up ordering a set of leather ABE from Europe, and sold the sportsters to a friend locally back in the spring.
                    Really enjoying the switch!

Those look great! I have PPs on my e36 M3, now you got me thinking of ordering a pair for my e46.

Can you please post a picture of the mounts? Are they on sliders?

                          Thanks!

                              Thanks guys ^
I don't have a personal IG, but feel free to reach out here if you had any more questions.
Having owned the standard PP's in a previous car, the ABE is a great departure for a car with stock seatbelts (pass-through).
I'm 6', 170ish with a 30 waist. You kind of need to push the belt receptacle up and sit under it while entering the seats, so the setup is definitely biased towards slimmer people. Here is a better pic from when I first installed:
