    RAC RG41 Value

    Hey guys
I’ve been out of the scene for a bit.
I have a set of RAC RG41’s I bought a few years back on the old .net. The wheels are in pretty good shape for the age but they do have a few small curb rashes and clear coat on the lips had seen better days.

We all know how awesome RAC wheels are but unless you’ve been on these forums for years, no one knows anything about them. Any idea on where to start an asking price if I list them?

I’m currently selling my M3 and I’m trying figure if it’s worth the hassle to sell the wheels separately or just leave them on the car.

After the RG41s, they put together the RG4 for the E60 M5, and I was part of a group buy (20", similar design to the RG41). I would look around at asking prices / sales of used BBS RS-GTs and E46 M3 ZCP wheels. I would expect a similar buyer set. There might be a few long-time enthusiasts out there that are familiar with RACs and willing to spend more. Back in my M5 days, late 2000s Great Recession time, I sold my $4k RG4s for $3k with almost new tires ($1200 right there). In the past couple years I've seen people get over $4k for the wheels alone in excellent condition...13 years later!

Edit for fun...added pic of my old E60 M5 + RAC for eye candy...

If they don't know RAC, don't sell to them!

If you have a set of stock wheels for the car sale, they worst selling separately for sure.

It might take a bit, though, as probably not a ton of people know about RAC at this point. You can't even search for them, since all the internet content on them was on the old forum.

Rac’s were the shit back in the day. Sad to see they don’t make them anymore.

If you don't know, you don't know... RG41 are not as popular but still a great wheel.
Don't think I'd get rid of my RG4s at all. But that's just me.

My former RG4s first found their way to Dubai...

Then I didn't hear from them for a couple years.

Then, 2 weeks ago, I got this email:

                Here it is attached.

One of the rarest desirable wheels for the E46 M3.

Thanks for that information! The only thing I’ve seen that I’m not sure about is the weight of the wheels. I’ve seen other posts claiming different weights than the information in that post. Specifically:

                    Fronts:
                    19x9, 37mm Offset, 19.6 lbs

                    Rear:
                    19x10, 25mm Offset, 20.4 lbs

I’ve contemplated selling my set of RG4’s, but I know it would be difficult to acquire another set in the future.

I think they were around 48 and 49 lbs when I weighed them with new PS4S tires. That includes the balance wheel weights and the TPS which I forgot to take off and the shop already mounted them.

For a one+ year span, there were a few random WTB threads, but none ever went on the market and then M3F went down. This is up there with the Dixis Ti exhaust.

I'd also like to think that these wheels were a contributing factor for the LSB E46M that went sky high on BAT. All the kittens on the threads only noticed the car, but didn't have enough wisdom to notice these rare wheels on the car.

Wouldn't the weight difference be RG4 vs. RG41 (w/ lip)? I looked back at the M5board.com for the RG41 group buy in 20x9.5 and 20x10.5. The pre-production estimate was 22.5lbs for those, and when they arrived they weighed in at about 21.5lbs. It wouldn't surprise me if those monster 20" wheels were actually 21.5lbs, that your numbers above for the 19" RG41 are accurate.

I have a set of RS110’s that I’ve had for a long time, selling now since my M3 is gone
