    Brake Pedal Feel

Chasing a brake issue (still). Have an ever changing brake pedal feel due to all the bleeding and things I'm gesting. I lost memory of what baseline brake pedal feel is supposed to feel like.

Can some of you guys with STOCK setups remind me of what your brake pedal feels like and how much travel there is before brakes really come on?

I feel like my pedal is a little soft now and I have to press it 30-50% to really feel the brakes come on.

If you're questioning it, there's air in the system.

If there's air in MK60, you can't bleed it out with a foot or pressure blended-- you need the computer actuated bleed.

Let me guess, you have MK20. Or air in the system. Bleed the abs?

Sorry to thread jack here but I am having very similar issues. Does having an MK20 affect pedal feel? I have bled my system so many times using a pressure bleeder but I also have a slightly softer pedal feel. It is stiff with the car off but once I turn it on, it just feels squishier.

My pedal (MK20) always felt considerably softer than stock caliper MK60 cars until I upgraded calipers on all four corners. ABS was bled via inpa or foxwell type tool constantly, whole stock system was rebuilt including brake booster and master cylinder, two piece stock rotors, Endless fluid - nothing fixed this until I changed all 4 calipers.

Be sure to bed in brakes before evaluating pedal feel. Pad shape and compound can actually affect feel more than you would think.

Pad taper can also affect it.

I measured brake pedal travel before engagement (using hand to depress brake pedal with no vacuum in the booster). Before and after bed in was an inch different (pedal engaged an inch sooner than before the bed in).
