    OE Battery P/N

    Hey guys,

After much abuse, my battery is finally having trouble keeping a charge. In looking up the OE Part number (61217586961), it appears to be NLA. Does anyone have the P/N of the succeeding battery?

If BMW doesn't offer the battery anymore (doubtful), what's the best non-OE battery? I'm not looking for weight savings -- my car is a fat garage queen.

Stock battery is just a run of the mil 94R battery. If you have a coupe, the battery tray can fit upto a group 49 / H8 battery. I'm running a 49/H8 AGM battery myself. Any brand is fine, there's like 3 manufacturers of batteries worldwide anyway.

Yeah, I'm just a whore for paying BMW for their OE stuff. TIL that there are only three battery OEs in the world though.

      Thanks!

Probably a couple more than 3, but it is truly only a handful. 61212353808 is what BMW currently specs. 61212353812 will fit if you want a bit more capacity and CCA than stock.

And who knows if they still look the same, but at least at one point the bosch branded ones (which I think are made by Exide) looked the same as the OE ones

My current OE battery is made by exide and looks exactly like the pictured batteries. Since they're this re-branded, I'll just stick with an Exide / Bosch H8 battery.

          Thanks for the tips!
