I am in the middle of installing Ssv1 headers along with the catted section 1 and having some fitment issues, I suppose that is to be expected with aftermarket parts even though it is Supersprint.
The issue I have is the SS section 1 is sitting a bit lower than my previous factory/Euro Sec 1. and as a result the rear portion of Sec. 2 is now damn near touching the area where the bottom left sway bar bolt goes.
The shield/plate that sits up top of the factory Sec. 2 was touching the sway bar mounting area as well dangerously close to the driver's side axle. I removed the shield attached to Sec. 2 which gave me a bit of room but it doesn't take much force for me to push the Sec. 2 pipe into the sway bar mounting area.
If I remove the exhaust bracket plate with the rubber mounts that Sec. 2 rests on it gives me a bit more clearance where Sec. 2 has interference in the rear. Also the frontmost underbody plate won't even bolt up as Sec. 1 is sitting too low.
I obviously do not want to run the car without the two plates installed so I need to come up with a fix. My only thoughts are to put some washers or some type of spacer (around 1/4") between the vehicle and the plate.
I see that ECS has a video in which they installed the Ssv1's/Catted Sec. 1 and it would appear that they have some type of spacers between the two plates and the vehicle so I wonder if this doesn't happen to others as well. Also those headers did NOT want to go on until I filed some of the holes out a bit, however the extremely long etorx studs I have made that a bit worse.
