    Insurance advice for daily driver

Recently I’ve had to start daily driving my m3. I know the best thing to do would be to get another car to daily and insure the m3 through haggerty. That is not an option right now. I remember reading horror stories about terrible valuations from insurance companies after accidents. Liberty mutual agent says that my car valuation is rated by symbols not an actual cash valuation, my symbol is 23/23, no idea what that means. What is the best daily driving insurance company/policy for our m3s?

I had a pretty good experience with Geico when I got into a freak accident last year and deployed one of the curtain airbags from hitting a pothole. They footed the entire $6k bill minus my deductible for all OEM parts and repairs at a BMW dealer. I don't think there is a normal non-collector car insurance policy out there that would actually pay out what these cars are worth if you were to total it. Someone can chime in if I'm wrong.

Just a piece of advice, it’s a shame that m3forum is not around any more. It was littered with threads about owners being screwed by their insurance companies. Every one of those owners regretted not having agreed value policies. The best advice is get another daily driver and keep the m3 in agreed value. Also there are some insurance companies that do agreed value and allow for increased use such as taking the car to work, vacation, etc. Those are higher premiums obviously and the deductible is also a percentage of the value of the car.

I couldn’t stress to you enough not to use a run of the mill insurance company to insure your 20 year old m3. It will bite you in end should you get into a bad accident or major damage happen to the car. Remember the insurance DOES NOT cherish your m3 the same way you do. To them it’s just another 20 year car that they will use low ball comparables to save them money on your pay out.
