Hey, so a while back I installed an Avin Avant 3, and unfortunately there was always a bit of static in the background that I couldn't figure out. Now that I've got a bit more time I'd like to get to the bottom of it, and my research indicates that it is likely because I ran the wires through the passenger side sill, which may have been causing interference.
Unfortunately just about all the documentation out there for how to hookup an after market nav (for cars that came with factory nav) showed the wires going down the passenger side, so that's what I did. Now that I've uprooted it I'd like to make sure I am routing the cables the best possible way this time around, the two options remaining being under/through the center console, or through the driver side sill. Is any of these better/easier? I've mostly taken apart my center console and as far as I can tell there is no easy way to get a cable from underneath the rear bench to go underneath the carpet that is bridging the gap between the rear seats and the center console - am I missing something here? Or should I be going down the driver side instead?
Any one have any advice, or any tricks? Thanks.
