I’ve found vert sets on amazon and eBay here and there. It’s the coupe sets that are impossible to find. Part number ending in 231

These sets can be found. You just have to dig a little deeper and look for them. I have another set en route for a convertible.

Back before Christmas I had my car at the dealer for passenger airbag #3. While I was there I wandered over to parts to see if by chance they had any old stock lying around. Of course the answer was no, but the counter guy looked in the system and said it looked like one of the DCs in California was "supposed to get a set in a couple of weeks" and offered to put in an order for me. Said most likely you'll never see these, but let's just let the order hang out and see.
January and February went by and frankly I'd forgotten about it. Lo and behold, yesterday, on my car's 20th birthday no less(!), the parts dept called and said I had a set of mats ready for pickup.
Happy birthday to the old girl indeed.

As I posted earlier. With the exception of the M3 logo, one of (if not thee best) is Lloyd Mats. They are exclusive licensed for Porsche in North America and DINAN even uses them to make their custom mats. These are made in the USA. Not my style but they even make berber mats and rubber mats. So if left with no other opinions you can be comfortable buying these.

I agree with whoever said that if true that it’s hard to put weight back in the M3 after spending unreasonable amounts of money to take weight outI do want to try them in my M5 though, the OE rubber is a bit ugly if nicely utilitarian. Did you go with one of their patterns or just plain black?

Very slightly off topic, but I was brilliant (ie. lucky) enough to order a new set of floor mats from ECS last September, literally a couple weeks before they went NLA. I will be putting these into the car when I pull it out for Spring. I never really considered it before (just let them have their useful life), but given their NLA status, I have been thinking about applying a fabric protector before using them.
Any suggestions for which brand/product to use?
