The ones being made now are different. The M3 logo is like a 1-piece patch and they aren’t as thick.

Someone in the Bmw classifieds Facebook group has OEM grey mats for sale brand new in New Jersey.

    I wouldn't count on it.

I want to do something that would look like a 2 places rear seat with a mix of CF and alcantara. But it will only be for the look, not a real seat option.
Oh very cool. Should save even more weight if you get rid of the foam and leather (it'll be loud though).

Excited to see what you come up with!

Saved 25.9 lbs. My seat backs weigh 2.4 lbs total. They're very flimsy (by design), but they do their job. Recreating the seat backs in carbon will likely yield similar weight loss, but will be WAY stiffer.

Maybe both "versions" are embroidered but that photo looks like the "new version". That's good to know what these latest offerings look like regardless.

    Differences I see:

    - Middle line is a darker shade of blue as opposed to purple on the factory mats

    - The "3" is shaped differently, like a different font is being used

    - There is a pronounced line around the logo, that why I think it looks like an iron on patch and not as nice as the OG mats.

I bought 2 (black) sets when some thought they were going NLA and got the "shit" ones (IMO).
If they are back to the as from factory look I'll want some.

If you can phrase that such that the ECS rep can understand it and give a definitive answer I’d love to hear it. I don’t think their customer service people even work onsite after my last interaction with them.
