Agreed 100%. I hate to even carry a wallet, and don't get me started on carrying a phone....

These days all I carry is a phone and a car key. I look forward to phones becoming car keys, so I can nix them, too... and then phone functionality moving to the watch.

Problem with the whole keyless thing is the best cars required keys. Since about ‘06, cars are fashion accessories anymore, which is part of what I love about these. They are true “driver’s cars” in a very tangible sense of the word. People don’t value driver’s cars anymore because increasingly they don’t know how to drive — too busy looking at the... Fn... cell... phone.

I'm just waiting for the day we have eye implants running off our brains, give a whole new meaning to eyephone.

Yep. This was also my choice to replace the all metal M3 logo key ring the dealer gave me - it's light and doesn't annoyingly smash against the steering column

I used to use that leather key pouch from BMW, but lost the securement device (it popped off). Now I just run a bare key, nothing attached.

I guess I'm old school. I love using a key to start my cars. I hate the push button start. Although I do like not having to do anything to unlock the doors.

Totally get the not liking something hanging from the key. Mine is more for telling 2 cars apart since the keys are identical. E46 key chain not really an issue, E39 I might need something smaller.

E39 key has the notches near the base, e46 does not— I can tell those two apart in my pocket by hand.

My real issue is the two different e46s, which I can only tell apart by inspecting the cutout. I try not to have both in my pocket at once.

The issue is not having them in the pocket at once as that usually is not the case.

Issue is grabbing the right key when I head out. Lol I don't inspect them that carefully to know the difference in notches but I might now since you said something.

I ordered this a few weeks before the keychain group buy was created. Thanks for the ideas guy.

I’ll just put this keychain on one key and the top keychain on the other key.

The genuine leather key pouch is the only thing I use. I too had the button pop off, bought a new one. Don’t like heavy keychain jewelry dangling and tapping steering column.

Am I the only one with the factory “pouch” thingie? I keep the spare ones on a BW lanyard.

Nope not the only one. I had two as backup so leather still looks new.

Btw you know you can buy replacement Roundel emblems for your keys. I notice you’re missing them on both.

I was concerned about losing my car key when doing this, but have found it to be a game changer for driving and for key management at home. No more jingling or annoying kneecap scrapes anymore.
