Be careful with the Hard Motorsport panel - they make a sedan version which won’t fit.

These panels aren’t real easy to make. The panels are vacuum infused which takes a lot of time and effort. S2R’s pricing is very low for the time it takes to make one.

A couple of week lead time is reasonable.

I got one, took about 2 months. It's brand new, I'd be willing to sell it since I'm probably going the carbon roof route.

The product has gone through a number of revisions and are produced in batches, just like many other products. It's not his day job though, so hang tight, he'll deliver. I ordered mine last summer and it took a month or so to arrive iirc.

My S2R panel fits beyond spot on and would be one of the first mods if I ever purchased another sunroof equipped E46.

You’re saying your CF panel is fully CF? Mine is the same as the video posted...and it most definitely is mostly Fiberglas with CF layered on top of the opening only.

It is overlay, not full CF afaik. It's got a high quality gloss coating that goes beyond what other panels have. It's not "just an overlay" to call it CF and off it goes.

These parts are made in a mold. Then it’s either bagged and then resin is drawn through the part or is laminated and then put under vacuum through a bleeder cloth.

That’s how you get the gloss finish on the CF part. It’s epoxy.

The FG version is gel coated and then vacuum infused or laminated and then put under vacuum.

I might be interested, if its the full CF panel, not Fiberglass.

S2R doesn't make a full CF one, FYI. The CF is only over the opening, on the top side. The underside and primary structure are all fiberglass.

Weird, on their site they have two versions listed, the Fiberglass and CF. When going to the CF one's details page there's no mention of it just being CF only on the top but mainly fiberglass. It looks like its all CF, or at least that would be someones impression reading that. Would be shitty of them if that's the case, cause that's misleading. It's also $100 more than the fiberglass version.

Well, I can tell you that the black you see in the image isn’t CF. That’s fiberglass. And the underside of the CF is fiberglass too. I still think it’s worth it to avoid the hassle of painting but it’s 100% not all CF.

I had to create stacked washers to secure it. No way screws would secure it at the edges.

Other then the open "c" hole mine were right on the edge as well with the AJ hartman. I think that is as wide as they can make it before contacting something. But with the Aj full carbon piece it was more then stiff enough.

Anyone have pics of the gap left with an S2R panel.

YOu may be able to see the gap from the drilled holes in my videos on Right Foot Down. As for post install -- no gaps!

I also had a bad experience and had to have Paypal intervene to reverse the charge. Never once heard from the vendor guy despite multiple attempts 🤷‍♂️

might have to go that direction too.
