    Leaky shock

    Covid spare time find.
while cleaning the wheel wells, discovered a leaking rear shock.
    !#!##!
    Koni single adjustable 8241-1200.
Anyone know a quality Koni rebuild shop, or have a good one laying around?

    PO I believe installed a Koni/ H&R sport package.
    thanks in advance...

Sorry, don't have a repair source.
I had the same problem with the same damper.
It had a small crater on the piston shaft. Looked like damage from a tap with a hammer and marking punch.
I bought a new part as I thought they would think the damage was caused by negligence.

It had less than 2k miles on it.
I did not like them and switched to Bilstein, which after 8k miles, I thought were worse.
I noticed the damage when reinstalling it. It ripped the seal within a few miles of testing and was leaking copiously.
I ended up liking the Koni.
They have a lifetime warranty, to the original owner I would suppose.

There's a good chance it will be cheaper to just buy a new one vs getting it rebuilt.

If you want to get it rebuilt, the easternmost one that I know of is Truechoice.

Yeah I kind of got that about the rebuild. truechoice hasn't answered emails and they didn't answer their phone they're probably either really busy or covid-19 hit them also TC Kline racing is about 2 miles from truchoice ( go figure )soooo two new rear shocks on the way should be here sometime next week
            thanks
