Anyone prefer standard over CSL body parts?

Been wanting to go back to full original body (bumper, trunk, diffuser) for years now. But I keep remembering how hard it was for me to source the genuine csl trunk and liner 6yrs ago. Unfortunately I’m at that point of no return after all that work, to go back to where I started lol

Every time I see a clean stock m3 I get that nostalgic feeling of when I first saw one in person. Only thing I’d want is the led tails. Even the factory trunk looks clean. Less lines and swoops, classier look.

I think you're just bored with your look and want something different. CSL is CAF. Honestly I think you would regret it and if they are OEM pieces, no way.

I thought the same thing. Had the csl front and rear. Wanted the stock look with 67 19’s. Went back and haven’t looked back. Csl body looks great. Just wanted a oem look.

Yep for sure. There used to be a point where very few standard m3s had the csl body kit and when you saw one it was special. These days a good chunk of standard m3s have some csl body panels and it does devalue it a bit, especially when half of them don't fit right. I never liked the csl bumper, don't like the idea that you're blocking off a brake duct to one side, just looks less functional in my eyes and asymmetrical.

I always knew I'd change my mind eventually when I started grabbing body pieces though so kept all my original. Could swap them back in an afternoon.

Smart man. I threw away all my stock parts even had a euro factory bumper. So I threw away two standard bumpers

One thing i wish i tried before switching over to my Vorsteiner trunk was to go lipless on the oem trunk.

i remember seeing a couple m3s a while back like that and looked so clean

having to go thru that grueling process of lining up the body gaps gives me anxiety. I need to get my trunk repainted and even that is dreadful thinking about

Yup, that’s what I had. Not a fan of that little trunk lip.

OEM bumper was always my favorite look. Only thing CSL I like are the trunk and diffuser. Also wouldn’t really want to give up my armrest that I use every day just for carbon fiber.

Sort of. I don't like the CSL front bumper that much. I don't hate it or anything, just prefer the standard (euro to be precise).

Boot and diffuser is a whole diff story...

I like the csl trunk but I think it needs the diffuser to balance the rear end look top to bottom. Then I feel like the normal front end looks a little under done compared to the rear, and ultimately needs the front bumper to complete it.

Trunk is definitely the cleanest csl part. Although I feel the csl bumper helps balance out the csl trunk (especially from the side view). The lower front overhang compensates the higher sweeping trunk. Then the cf splitters to match rear cf diffuser.

It’s weird I even notice this lol

+1...Lol just said the same thing. I ran oem bumper with the csl trunk/diffuser for years. The front looked too conservative compared to the back

That settles it then, we are correct!
I actually had the trunk and diffuser and decided I wasn’t going all the way for the front bumper so I sold it all and stayed stock.

I prefer CSL body parts due to the extra level of integration/design in each piece. Really improves on the stock pieces in functional ways as well.

With that being said, there are a lot of crappy reps out there.
Another pet peeve is people who run the bumper without the airbox or a feed to their intake. The coolest part about the bumper is the fact that it is indeed functional!

                              100%!

you need something to offset the rear. I added a lip/splitter and now from a side view the car looks more balanced. Before with just the trunk and diffuser, the front looked empty and boring
