Clutch bushing

Brake is a PITA. I chose not to as you need to take the brake pedal assembly out. Plus you also need to file the bushing as is a very tight fit. Not worth. Just spray some silicon grease there.

My brake pedal is making a squeaking noise...I assume it is the bushings?

How much of a PIA is this job? I have to increase it 10x since my cage will be in the f*&!king way! Might have to remove the dash. Is this more of an annoyance or is there the potential of an actual issue? My exhaust will drown out just about any noise so I only notice it when waiting at the grid.

I did the same, actually I had initially gone with their clutch billet pedal, but it was not good for me so I took it off and upgraded just the bushing and it is a nice improvement, subtle in my case as my OE bushings were still ok

I'd opt for AKG over Garagistic. Too many quality and fitment stories with the latter.

Just wanted to weigh in as time has passed. I went with garagistic because AKG is out of stock and the fit was excellent. I can’t imagine it being better toleranced honestly.

I would consider the benefit more than subtle… I love it. But my pedal was super wobbly.

Is the clutch pedal itself a wear point in the area of the bushing and bracket pins? I'd think not, but, still researching this one.

I purchased the AKG bushings for both the clutch and brake pedal. I will be installing them when I swap my gray interior to black since I'll be in the area anyway. I also picked up a set of their pedals to install as well, great quality stuff from AKG.

Looks like a job done upside down and contorting into all sorts of physical conditions that I really don't want to do unless necessary.

Pull the driver's seat. Makes access somewhat better.

I replaced my clutch pedal bushing with the nylon OEM parts and it noticeably reduced the side-to-side slop.

Bumping this to hopefully understand more about 1) how much play is acceptable and 2) any DIY info. I have what I think is "too much" play, so I pulled the lower trim and looked up "there" thinking "ah, just replace bushings". Looks like a job done upside down and contorting into all sorts of physical conditions that I really don't want to do unless necessary. This all started with a squeak pressing the clutch, and then feeling the pedal...you know, rabbit hole, find stuff that isn't wrong type stuff... I don't want to get into brass and custom fitting stuff, I'm fine with replacing stock.

Clutch travels (rotates) more than brake is what I read. I assume brass wears less? Both are self lubricating.

Either way, both of my pedals are smooth and firm, no side to side play. And no noise.

Nylon for brake and brass for clutch. Off ebay. Garagistic has them too iirc.

Any particular reason why nylon for brake instead of brass for both clutch and brake?

Well, after17 years I think it's time to replace the clutch pedal bushings.
getting quite a bit of play back and forth.
There is a big selection of styles and materials.
Recommendations ???
