Supposedly rod bearings were never done!!! But being a 2001 the bearings were likely done by the dealer.

What a feel good story, that 17-year old is lucky. The E46 M3 was a car I always wanted coming out of high school, I'm just lucky enough to have found a clean example and something I can enjoy working on.

Yeah... I'm at 213k miles and on original bearings on all 4 corners. Highway mileage is super-easy on them
