So I’m in the process of buying a used hardtop off someone on Craigslist. Decent condition, no headliner sag, pretty good deal at $1600 but unfortunately the driver side locking pin thing is missing. I ordered one on ECS without checking the shipping date and turns out it will ship something mid March, but the right side lock will ship within 2-3 days??? So my question is, does it matter whether I buy a left or right lock pin to replace the missing one or it has to be the specific side?

If the part number is different, it almost certainly matters.

Yeah, as I recall from installing mine a couple years ago, in addition to the fact that the pins on the hardtop rotate in opposite directions to latch (clockwise on RH side, CCW on LH), they're also clocked differently. Gotta have one of each.
