Maybe, I'm not sure exactly where they would be placed, that's definitely a task for an engineer. My thinking was that by having custom torque curves, you could achieve many different driving styles with the same electric motors while maintaining the character/nature of the S54. For example, you could have a 1:1 throttle mapped N/A torque curve that is essentially the same kind of feeling as a roots/twin screw blower (boost everywhere, tons of low end, etc) for general driving, or a ton of extra torque and low end for drag/light to light racing etc. The ability to customize how much electric boost you get is limitless. You could even do different power curves based on what gear you're in.

You could also mount a large capacity secondary lithium ion battery in the trunk and use that as a rechargeable reserve for powering the electric motors.

Having another 100-200 wtq at 500-3000 RPM would be amazing, along with the option of adding further mid range and top end to the S54 without the heat and risk of boost.

To be honest, I think this is the best future: using electric boosts to augment the incredible combustion powerplants without losing their character and soul. Ripping out the original drivetrain is so wasteful and unnecessary.

100 percent agree, if properly executed it would be an amazing thing and I hope Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren and the rest of the ultimate machines go this way for the foreseeable future, at least until two things happen: I get to point in my life where I can actually buy a really awesome car like a GT3 and 2, a truly revolutionary system takes over.
The really great part is if you could build a conversion (or offer a factory setup as mentioned above), you could putt putt around town and commute 60 miles or so without turning on the ice, keeping wear, maintenance and fuel consumption super low. I hate, absolutely hate starting my poor m3 so many times and just sitting in traffic for an hour. It would be amazing to drive through traffic in silence, then fire up the ice when you get to the canyon or want to open it up. I’m honestly surprised automakers can’t implement this well. A 911 or M4 with a 200hp electric boost/standby motor could be really great.

You guys dream big. I was thinking a bespoke interior and some sort of Magnaride would be the limit for me.
        Old, not obsolete.

This is subjective of course but the Taycan is much better looking and has a much better interior that more than makes up for the price(and I get to go to the porsche dealer and look at GT3's while I have it serviced). Tesla is about as exciting as a prius with brembos in the looks department (and 90 percent of the driving experience when youre not on it, drab interior, no engine noise etc). The Taycan at least gets me excited and has a cool factor the tesla cant match (as does the i3 for some reason).
I think the model s is prettier than the Taycan, but 100% agreed on the interior materials. But, as a complete interior... for cars of similar size, the Model S has absurdly more interior space than the Taycan. The Porsche feels nicer, but there’s more to interiors than material quality.

I’m not really arguing for Tesla— I’d never buy one because of their parts/service situation. But, from an engineering perspective, I still feel like they’re 5-10 years ahead of everyone else.

The i3 is the only EV I think has ever given them a run for their money, engineering wise... which is part of why I have one

Agree and that is another car I really like. The only thing that lets it down is the performance. It really should have been a consistent sub 3.5 sec car at least. Otherwise I think they nailed it.

                Bozozuku .-)

Wenn du der Meinung bist, dass dein Fahrzeug durch einen Umbau sehr krass aussieht, dann hast du noch nicht von Bosozoku Style Tuning (Bōsōzoku) aus Japan

                  Yeah, me too.

I don’t actually think it’s too slow— 0-60 in the 4s is plenty fast to be enjoyable. For me the hang up is long term reliability— there’s a lot of complexity going on in that thing. I’m wary of a PHEV from anyone other than Toyota.
