PSA: Turner CSL Style Intake 15% Off

Had been considering jumping in on the next batch of pre orders for the turner box already but I pulled the trigger when I saw all of their kits are 15% off right now. Link below!

    FYI
I have had one on order since November. The shipping date was just pushed back to May now. Just be prepared to wait if you order.

Remind me again if we had the pitchforks out for Turner on this box or not?

Isn't it just ECS using the Turner name at this point? If that Grassroots Motorsports article is to be believed...

The would also dissolve the in-house R&D and production, boasting their plans to send manufacturing to the same Chinese and Mexican companies ECS was already outsourcing to.

They'd keep the domain name and 800 number, and 4 sales reps to continue the perception that Turner Motorsport was an independent parts house. They also kept two customer service reps to handle all the shipping errors, damaged parts, wrong parts, and nightmare orders ECS had become so good at creating. They quietly dumpstered thousands of parts and sent millions of dollars worth of inventory (much of which they had no way of selling) to their Ohio warehouse. A once-great all-BMW parts house went from 50 employees to 6, remains to this very today.

Did the people with V1 Turner boxes get refunds or V2 replacements yet? If they haven't, I wouldn't order lol

I bought a V1 with a couple broken connections. I JB Welded them back with some clear epoxy and the box runs fine. The fitment is perfect. It clears my OEM strut bar, thankfully. It would've really sucked to have to put the Dinan one back in. For the price, you can't beat it. This falls in the category of worth buying with good bang for your buck for me. When I received it I was SUPER skeptical but it was on clearance so I said screw it. On top of those connections, I epoxied everything else that was glued on. No issues but it's only been 3 days. Whether it's connections are intact or not or not, I would verify fitment and THEN epoxy everything over the preset glue. Mine didn't come with a warranty so I just epoxied it immediately. JB Weld epoxy is slightly flexible but holds very well. It's also good for engine bay temperatures.

However, I still hate ECS so decide whether you want to support them or not. I doubt they made money on me with all the hours and shipping they lost.

Yeah I had my V1 box replaced with a V2 and I have no complaints at all, other than the unfiltered section being a little difficult to get on/off when the box is installed. But otherwise fitment, sound, and performance are great.

Is it as good as a Karbonius in terms of overall fit/finish? Not quite! But if you get the Turner for a good discounted price like I did (similar to current offer), you end up coming in about $1000 cheaper than a Karbonius box once you take the snorkel etc into account. If money's no object go Karb, but if the Karb is just too expensive a proposition for you, or you're on the fence about spending so much, then absolutely go Turner and save the $1000. The Turner box seems to suffer no decrease in performance -- the boxes Hassan have tuned have made fantastic power so far!

I'm curious what I'll make with stock cams. Obviously it's not going to be substantial but it'll be cool to see. The design is, in my opinion, more geared towards high end power than a stock box. It's up in the air if it can actually make more but the velocity stacks inside should add something. Shorter with round edges with definitely add power in theory. Air just isn't as directed towards the opening like the stock box.

Same exact thing here. I’m seriously considering just going supercharger at this point.

Ive received my replacement V2, and tuned the V1 box with oem Euro headers and SCZA sec3, 325whp/250wtq, with HTE.

HTE is a god. I went with the turner box after seeing he got a US spec Vert with 100% stock exhaust setup besides the airbox to 314whp. Cats still on the car. Insane

I have received my V2 box after the V1 never fit properly, arrived with a broken lower air hose port, and had the trumpet pins fall out after 800 miles of driving. V2 box appears to be substantially better built, with the pins embedded into the CF weave, more adhesive on all the ports (most inlaid into the fibre), and it actually fits. I had JB welded the lower air hose port on, but it failed at some point between the third install and when I took the box out. I've put maybe 250 miles on the V2 box since it arrived (car is purely a toy at this point, I drive it ~once a month).

V1 box, TMS pullies, HTE tune on full CSL H-Bridge ECU, SGT V3 headers, Euro Sec 1 and stock sec2/3 made 335whp on CA91. Car absolutely rips, and I am certain I'm up a bit on power now that my ports are actually connected...

If I had to do it again, I would probably go Karbonius or Supercharger. I just didn't want to deal with heat soak on track.

How much of a God is he? You got 11 whp over someone who spent 0 dollars on a stock car. Did you tune your car on 87? LOL

11 whp over stock? Correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve seen countless stock cars out down 275-290 whp at most on dynos.
